Turtles and ducks were loving this.

we have a turtle pond near our home and I tire of watching people throw out bread and other super unhealthy foods to the wild animals.

I purchased this turtle food and my family and I have enjoyed being able to feed the turtles while knowing it's not zero nutrition.

The ducks seem to get excited, too, and come over and gobble some up. Feeding bread to ducks, by the way, can cause a condition called "Angel Wing" that you can look up. So although this is not duck food, I am sure it's more nutritious for them than the cruddy white bread that I see people throwing to them.

AHHH!!

I volunteer for a wildlife center so I see the damage done. I was a bread giver, too, before I learned what can happen. I throw this info into the review in the hopes that the person reading it will learn and then teach someone else that feeding bread to animals is bad news.

I purchased this turtle food two weeks ago and we are happy. The product is listed on Amazon as: “Zoo Med Natural Aquatic Turtle Food”. This product shipped on time, was packaged well, and arrived on time. Bottom line is, good product and I now have a much bigger container of turtle food than my two read ear slider will go through this year. The turtles love them, the fish are happy, and the ducks don’t really care, but the quality pellets look better than most I have purchased in the last year. They are larger pellets for medium and larger turtles and not much dust or powder in the container. We keep a small amount for daily feedings in a smaller screw top container, but the large screw top container makes it easy and convenient to keep the extras closed and dry. The price and quantity is far better than driving to the local pet store. If you are like me and so many others who rely heavily on reviews to make an informed decision before purchasing, I hope this information has helped you make a decision to purchase it or not. I stand behind my recommendation for this turtle food and you won’t get any complaints from my little zoo of animals. [...]

I have been using this turtle food for my two turtles for over a year now and they love it. Other commenters feed their turtles directly in the tank and have problems with fouling of the water. If you want to cut down on how often the tank needs cleaned, buy a clear plastic bin and feed your turtles in that container for 20-30 minutes. Once they're done eating, put them back in their tank and dump the dirty water out in the sink. I feed my 2 year old turtles every other day/every two days this way and I only have to clean my tank every month and a half. Having a good filter helps too. Feeding turtles in their tank is the wrong way to do it because the water will get soiled really quickly and could kill any fish you have in the tank with the turtles.

The 30 oz size seems to last me around 6 months or so, but I also mix this food with sun dried red shrimp to give them a treat. Just don't buy in bulk until you know your turtles like this food! (My turtles absolutely hate Tetra ReptoMin sticks.)
